From the Director’s Desk . . .

As we entered our sixth year, the Lord said, “This is the year of fulfillment and the year of the Open Door.  I am Slamming Doors Open!  Proclaim it, Pronounce it, Decree it and Declare it.  There will be challenges and changes, but continue to press in and press through because many more Victories are yet to come”.  Praise God! — How true that has been.  I am amazed at His steadfast faithfulness and provision.  We did go through many challenges and changes, but God gave us great favor and victory over each and every one. 

As we enter our seventh year, the Lord has given another word of guidance. I thank him so much for his graciousness and His Word which hold me stable and steady in everyway, everyday.  “The Lord said, “He was turning our disappointments and despair to a higher level of DEPENDENCY on Him.  He said for us to look to the Horizon and not the Sunset and to trust Him totally for all that is in the future for The Link and in our lives.”  A day after that word, one of our students gave me a birthday card with many signed well wishes.  Behind the scripts was a huge picture of a Horizon!  The Lord knows how to encourage someone and He did just that.  What blessed peace and assurance filled my soul.  Without a shadow of doubt, I know that we are being held tightly in the firm and steady grip of our Lord.

So, again, as we enter our seventh year, I am very excited because I know that God is with us in a mighty way to see His name lifted up and glorified in the community He has placed us to serve.  I am so thankful for this opportunity and for the many wonderful students he has entrusted in our care.  I know it is for His Glory and we truly praise Him for that.

Sadly, we have to say goodbye to Samantha Shelton, our beloved pre-professional class teacher. Samantha has been blessed with a full-time teaching position at Rochester School of Dance.  So, our teaching staff has expanded.  Joining the Link is Mr. Addison O’Day, Alabama Ballet and Ms. Amanda Caveney (formerly Knox), New York City Ballet.   In addition, we have several students who are “stepping out” into the professional world of dance, either pursuing college as a dance major or opportunities here and abroad to pursue dance as a career.  Please keep us in your prayers as we seek God’s wisdom and guidance along the way.

On behalf of our Board Of Directors and Management Team, I would like to extend a very special thank you to all of our students, parents, volunteers and supporters who have upheld The Link these past six years.  A very special thank you to the ones who fill our mailboxes from time to time with wonderful notes of encouragement, love and support.  You have no idea how much it has strengthened and stirred us to do the will of God.  Words cannot express my gratitude and joy.  Please pray for us to continue “Steppin Out, Pressin” In and Breakin’ thru” the challenges and changes of conquering the arts one step at a time for the Glory of God!
